Dr. Ryan Olsen,

Welcome and thank you for expressing interest in our site!  I couldn’t be more excited to have this incredible opportunity to serve this community.  It’s with great pride and passion to be here and I look forward to adjusting, educating, and helping others achieve true health.

So who am I and how did I get here?  I was born in Greenville, Pa however the majority of my life I spent growing up in the central part of the state, Mechanicsburg, Pa to be exact, a suburb of Harrisburg.  I attended Mechanicsburg Area Senior High and was very active in sports playing football, basketball and track.  I went on to play football at the University of Pittsburgh and graduated from Pitt’s school of Communication with a BA in Rhetoric and Communication.  That is where my story truly starts.  There I met my wife, Julianne whom I owe my love and dedicated life to chiropractic for she introduced to me to the field.  With the many injuries I sustained from football and the suggestion from Julie, I turned the corner and found chiropractic.  It is at that point I found a belief system that is based solely on the body’s nervous system and its ability to heal itself without the implementation of antibiotics and medication.

Upon my graduation from the University of Pittsburgh I moved onto bigger and better things, Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA, the birth place of chiropractic.  It is at that institution I truly came to grips with the meaning of true health.  Living a life full of energy, dedication and drive with the notion of a subluxation free spine has really motivated me to help those in need.  Seeing a continuous amount of children and adults overcoming health obstacles through chiropractic care has truly been a blessing for me.

My name is Julianne Olsen and I am the wife of Dr. Ryan Olsen.  I am originally from Ford City, which is where I grew up and graduated from high school.  From the time I was young, math was always my strong point.  I knew as I grew up that I wanted to continue my education with a focus around math and numbers.

After graduation, I continued on to the University of Pittsburgh to study Accounting.  I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and a focus on International Business.  During my time at Pitt, I studied for a semester in Alicante, Spain, lived with a local family, took classes on International Business and Spanish Grammar and did as much traveling as I could fit in on the weekends.

When I came back from Spain, I started having some horrible back pains.  I had been diagnosed with scoliosis and grew up with back pain, but at this point, it was starting to effect my daily living.  My mom suggested I go with her to a chiropractor.  He helped me immensely.  I was shocked and grateful.  It sparked me to learn more about natural remedies, self-healing, and homeopathy.

At some point during my treatment, I asked Ryan to come with me to an appointment.  He saw how much chiropractic care was helping me and over the next few months, decided that he wanted to pursue a career in chiropractic and started applying to schools for the Doctor of Chiropractic program.
Before I knew it, we were moving to Davenport, Iowa, which is where we spent our next 4 years.  I worked.  He studied.  By graduation we had one son and another one on the way.

We came back to Ford City only to find ourselves packed up again and moving to Singapore, to take advantage of a job opportunity in an ever-expanding market where the demand for chiropractic care was exploding.

After opening four clinics in Singapore in one year there, and the birth of our third son on the horizon, we decided to move back to Ford City once and for all and create a stable household to raise our family.

That brings us to the present.  We have literally been to the other end of the world and back treating patients with chiropractic care.  Along the way we have gained an invaluable education regarding why people need chiropractic, how you benefit from it, and how it can help you achieve a lifestyle without pain that you never could have imagined.

When I look back at how many years I was suffering and how much pain I was in, I often wonder, “Why didn’t I call a chiropractor sooner?”

Allow me to introduce myself to you. My name is Jenn, and I am the Chiropractic Assistant (CA) here at Olsen Chiropractic.

I was born in Los Angeles, Ca., but was raised in Punxsutawney, Pa., and have always enjoyed being active both physically and mentally. I attended Punxsutawney Area High School where I focused my future on art and writing and participated in extracurricular activities such as tennis and soccer.

After high school, I trekked on to college and attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) to earn my bachelor’s in Journalism. When I began this new era of my life, I had no idea what to expect or where my degree would take me, but I would soon find out.
During my education, I fell in love with public relations and took on an internship in my last year of school with Physiotherapy Associates, a national physical therapy corporation, in their Marketing and PR department.

Upon graduating, I never thought that I’d actually end up working in the health field -- especially in a chiropractor’s office because I had no idea what the care entailed previously in my life. However, I had my first real chiropractic experience in January 2010 when I began working for a chiropractic company in the Pittsburgh area for a short period of time prior to meeting Dr. Olsen. Now, I honestly swear by the care.
I’ve learned so much about my health and what chiropractic can really do for a person these past few months. It’s all common sense to me now, and we hope to make it that way for everyone else as well.

Health has always been important to me, but chiropractic has made it a priority to me. Wherever life may take me, this care and knowledge will be sure to follow.

I still enjoy doing my art and writing, but I can’t imagine being anywhere else right now than working for Dr. Olsen.

Dr. Olsen and his wife, Julie, gave me the opportunity of a lifetime here, and I couldn’t thank them more. I hope you enjoy coming to our office as much as I enjoy working in it.

Hello! My name is Valerie and I am the new massage therapist at Olsen Chiropractic!

I was born and raised in Ford City, and graduated from Elderton High School. I was always very good at English, art, and science. I started taking dance classes at the age of 2, and after high school, I went on to study ballet and modern dance at Point Park University. About a year into my studies, I sustained an injury that put an immediate halt on my education there. That is when I became interested in massage therapy.

One day, I got a brochure from Career Training Academy in the mail on their massage therapy program. It caught my interest and I enrolled in the program the very next day. I fell in love with the therapy, and was often told by my instructors that I had a very natural knack for it. After 2 years, I obtained my Associate’s Degree in Specialized Technology for Massage Therapy.

During my time at Career Training Academy, I realized the many benefits of massage and chiropractic care. I had always suffered from extremely painful migraines and, after about a month of regular massages, I realized that the pain had started to subside. In fact, the muscular aches and pains I had experienced had also gone away. I was less stressed, more relaxed, and had a more positive attitude because of it. I highly recommend it. Whether you have experienced any type of pain, or even if you just want to relieve everyday stress and just relax, there is a massage for you!

I want to thank Dr. Olsen for giving me this wonderful opportunity to join his practice and I look forward to helping him educate and care for the community through therapeutic massage and chiropractic care.
